A flexible tool to help you
Collaborative relationship mapping (ColRM) is a graphic reflection and assessment process designed to build the capacity of those involved to understand and to assess the underlying relationships and networks among them or to self-monitor and to change course midstream.
ColRM is a flexible tool that can be used to meet these aims as well as capture assessment and research data to document partnership practice over time and to document the development of human and social capital devoted to a partnership.
While communication is one of the most significant variables that can impact how collaborative relationships develop, ColRM provides a deeper analysis. The ColRM model moves beyond a constituency-based model of partnerships to consider partnerships as a subset of collaborative relationships. Collaborations consist of interconnected sets of personal relationships, social networks, factions, and coalitions. Focusing partnerships as relationships provides a platform to study relationships in terms of their attributes, allowing for new insights.
