The Indianapolis Public Library has been providing free seeds (veggies, herbs & flowers) through our Seed Library project for several years. Our focus is on branch locations that are in or near food deserts. To save on cost we purchase seeds in bulk and repackage them with labels and library barcodes. This project is at our Pike Branch, 6525 Zionsville Road, where we have a community room that will provide for safe distancing. We can host up to 8 individuals or group members in 2-4 hour shifts (minimum age 10 with an adult). Planting season is around the corner so we’d like to have the majority of the packaging completed by the end of March. To see the shifts on Tuesdays (2-4 or 5-7) or Wednesdays (10-12 or 3-5) signup below!
