Summary:

Paws and Think is a non-profit organization focusing on the at-risk community, both human and canine. Paws and Think's Pet Therapy Training Classes teach dogs and their handlers the skills needed to become part of a registered Pet Therapy team with Paws and Think. After taking the class and passing the evaluation, dogs and their handlers visit with children and adults at all different types of partner venues including schools, libraries, hospitals, nursing homes, and more! Volunteers (without dogs) are needed to assist with practice activities at the Pet Therapy Training classes. This includes activities like: distracting the dog while it walks with its handler, administering a fake vet examination on the dog, practicing calm greetings with the dog/handler, practicing walking down a narrow hallway next to the dog, and other duties as needed.
