Summary:

White River State Park is planning their first "Spring Clean the White River" to put the city's best foot forward as Indy prepares to welcome up to 1 million visitors for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th, 2024. The health of the White River has greatly increased with recent efforts to maintain the environment, but with frigid winter weather comes a halt in most clean up efforts, leaving a heavy load to be managed in the spring. We are calling for volunteers to help us with the river clean up, invasive species removal, trash pickup, and city beautification on April 4th and April 5th. There will be two shifts each day, from 9 AM to 12 PM, and 1 PM to 4 PM, where volunteers can make a positive impact on the environment and engage with community partners in downtown Indianapolis. Water, snacks, gloves, free parking, and any other tools needed will be provided for all participants.
